Help : About This User’s Guide : What is PrintSphere?
What is PrintSphere?
ThePrintSphere service lets you store files in your dedicated space on the printsphere.com server which is managed by your administrator. You can share these files with other users who are also registered to use the service on the same server (Manual PrintSphere users), or with unregistered users via a public link (Auto PrintSphere users). You can also choose to sync any files in your space with your computer and use synced folders just like other folders on your computer. Mobile users can download the PrintSphere app and use the service when they are on the go. The service constantly polls the PrintSphere server to check for updates.
You access the service through one or a combination of the following interfaces:
PrintSphere website
PrintSphere desktop application
PrintSphere mobile apps
What is SphereCenter?
SphereCenter is a separate application where you start the PrintSphere subscription, create users and monitor storage usage. This is not covered in this documentation. See “Related Documentation and Support”.
What is ProductionCenter?
ProductionCenter is a module of your workflow solution that you use to manage connectivity with the PrintSphere or WebApproval services: create companies, users, etc. This is not covered in this documentation. See “Related Documentation and Support”.
What is AutoPilot
AutoPilot uses scripts to add data processing capabilities to the PrintSphere file-sharing environment and to further automate processes in your prepress workflow. AutoPilot is set up by the printer administrator in SphereCenter. See the SphereCenter Help.
Intended Audience
This User’s Guide is intended for Manual PrintSphere users and the administrator of the PrintSphere service. The Manual PrintSphere users have received log-on credentials from their administrator to use the PrintSphere service.
Workflow Connectivity
If you are a print service provider using the Apogee Prepress or Asanti solution, your workflow may be configured to work with the PrintSphere service so you can create shared hot folders and system back-ups on printsphere.com. See “Connectivity”.
StoreFront Integration
If you are a print service provider using StoreFront, the web-to-print solution for creating online stores, you can use PrintSphere to manage large image libraries. This makes life easier for you and your customers when creating customized products for stores. An external account needs to be created in StoreCenter to link to PrintSphere. See “Connectivity” and the StoreCenter Help for more information.
